Swacch Bharat Abhiyan is one of the most famous and noteworthy steps by the government. Thanks to the campaign, we have come a long way in dealing with waste.
We believe that “Waste is not actually waste”. One of the most important aspect that needs to be changed is the attitude and perspective of the youth towards waste. However the Reduce, Reuse and Recycle model can only be implemented successfully if there is proper segregation of waste. We are creating awareness on solid waste management among students and implementing 360 degree sustainable model in schools. A unique model to be implemented first time in Maharashtra.
Involvement from Participating School
- 1. We will be conducting a 2 hour workshop teaching students how to reduce the amount they use, repair and reuse what they can, and recycle the rest.
- 2. They will be asked to come up with ideas for waste segregation and volunteering students (selected from school) will be given a 2 week assignment to gather data on the quantity and type of waste generated in the school.
- 3. Thereafter we will install 4 bins as per the data submitted by the volunteer students.
- 4. We will help schools tie up with recycling companies to collect segregated waste collected by schools. In return school will get proportionate rewards.
This will instil a culture of sustainable consumption that will spill out of the classroom and into the students‘ home-lives
